Spring into Spring

Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16, 2010
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days
Plant Sale Details

Lauritzen Gardens is excited to announce that The Fountain is returning for this wonderful annual celebration of spring.

The Fountain from The Living Garden® performance troupe will enchant visitors of all ages as a beautiful statue of a woman awakens into a living fountain. All will be amazed as water cascades from her fingertips and headdress during these elegant performances. The event is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, and The Fountain will perform at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1 and 3:30 p.m.

Visitors may also spend the weekend choosing from a variety of plants grown and propagated in the Lauritzen Gardens greenhouses since as early as February. Exciting plants to look for include purple hyacinth bean, colorful new varieties of coralbells, the new Younique series of Astilbe, numerous varieties of ornamental grasses as well as hanging plants. These plants can be seen throughout the garden as beds are planted and re-planted during the upcoming seasons.

Local garden clubs, plant societies and environmental organizations will also be sharing information about how to care for plants and help sustain our environment. Some groups will also be selling plants and related merchandise throughout the weekend. Visitors may learn how to become involved in these organizations and how to help the community through gardening and environmentally friendly practices.

Members have the exclusive opportunity to purchase plants on Friday, May 14, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

In the spirit of "being green," please bring your own bags or boxes to assist in carrying out your merchandise.

Standard garden admission rates apply. Members are admitted free. Join today!
